PTSD Treatment in Arizona

Angela Marton, PMHNP-BC, provides trauma-informed PTSD treatment via telehealth for patients across Arizona. PTSD is triggered by experiencing or witnessing a traumatic event and is characterized by intrusive memories, avoidance, negative changes in mood, and heightened arousal.

What PTSD treatment looks like

Your first appointment is a careful, compassionate 45–60 minute conversation about your symptoms and their impact on your life. You don't have to share more than you're comfortable with. Angela will discuss medication options and what to expect, and schedule regular follow-ups to monitor how you're doing.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need medication for PTSD?

Medication can be an important part of PTSD treatment, particularly for managing symptoms like nightmares, hypervigilance, and emotional dysregulation. Angela will discuss what options are available and what the research supports for your specific situation.

How long does PTSD treatment take?

PTSD treatment is often a longer journey than treating anxiety or depression. Progress is real, but it takes time. Many patients see meaningful improvement in symptoms within a few months of finding the right treatment approach.

Do I have to talk about what happened in detail?

For medication management, no. Angela needs to understand your symptoms and how they're affecting you, but you don't have to relive specific traumatic events in detail. She will always go at your pace.

Can I do appointments online?

Yes — and for many trauma survivors, being able to do appointments from their own safe space actually makes it easier to engage in care. All appointments are via HIPAA-compliant telehealth.
