What depression treatment looks like

Your first appointment is a 45–60 minute comprehensive evaluation. Angela will ask about your symptoms, how long you've been feeling this way, what's happened in your life, and any previous mental health treatment. Follow-up appointments are typically within 2–4 weeks to check how you're responding.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need medication for depression?

Medication isn't required, but it's often a very effective part of treatment for moderate to severe depression. Angela will talk through what the research says about your situation and what options make the most sense for you. You'll always have a say in what you try.

How long does depression treatment take?

Antidepressants typically take 4–6 weeks to show their full effect. Many people start to feel some improvement within 1–2 weeks. Getting to the right medication and dose can take a few months, which is why consistent follow-ups matter.

Can I do appointments online?

Yes — all appointments are via telehealth. If anything, being able to do appointments from home removes one more barrier when you're already struggling with low energy or motivation.

What if I've tried antidepressants before and they didn't work?

Having a medication not work doesn't mean medication won't help you — it often means the wrong medication was tried, or the dose wasn't right. Angela will review exactly what you've tried before and use that information to guide the next step.
